Wold Escapes Glampsite from the air

A few weeks ago through our Instagram and TikTok accounts we got you to ask us all the questions, big or small, on what you want to know before coming to stay with us.  Loads of you got in touch so we decided to do a blog on our frequently asked questions (FAQs) and here it is…

Wold Escapes Glamping Cabins FAQ

This blog covers our FAQs at our glampsite…

How many glamping cabins do you have?

Wold Escapes is home to seven glamping cabins.  We are not a huge site, but we feel that makes us special.  They are all positioned so you are not overlooking your neighbour and have unspoilt views over the East Yorkshire Wolds countryside.  We have added willow borders between each cabin which are planted up with beautiful flowers, as well as screens on the cabins around the hot tubs for added privacy.

Do all the glamping cabins have a hot tub?

Yes, all our glamping cabins have their own private hot tub on their decking.  We know you love them so we made sure when we added our latest two cabins, Queen Bee and Waterlily they both had a hot tub for you to enjoy.

Is there a curfew for using the hot tubs?

There is no curfew for using our hot tubs, all we ask is that you are respectful to our other guests and local residents at all times of the day.  Guests often say how much they love how quite and peaceful it is down here at Wold Escapes.  It’s a vibe we like to keep going…

Will the hot tubs be hot when we get there?

Yes, our hot tubs are heated by our new air source heat pumps.  These heat our cabins and their hot tubs, keeping them toasty warm for your arrival as well as being eco-friendly.

Do note however, if you leave the lid of the hot tub open for long periods of time the water will cool down, even if you are in it.  If this happens get out and replace the lid to let it warm up again.

Will anyone be able to see us in the hot tub?  How private are they?

We have positioned all our glamping cabins with privacy in mind.  They all face in a different direction, we’ve added screens and willow boarders making our hot tubs super private.  Guests often comment that they have not seen another person during their stay with us.

Are Wold Escapes Glamping cabins dog friendly?

Yes, they are!  We are all dog lovers here at Wold Escapes and know that many of you love taking your pooch on holidays too, so we have made all our glamping cabins dog friendly.  Simply book them a place when you book yourself in.  We simply ask you to keep them off the furniture, keep them on a lead (so they don’t nip off into someone else’s cabin), and pick up and bin any dog poo.

We have some great walks around the area so we’re a great option if you’re looking for a dog friendly trip away.

Unfortunately, our B&B rooms and farmhouse are not dog friendly as we have a cookery school on site during the week.

Where can we eat?

The nearest options are to walk into Cranswick village and eat at the Farmshop (open in the day time and has a cafe) or the White Horse. It will take you about half an hour to walk into the village, otherwise it’s really a car journey and you can check out our local area guide.

In and around Driffield we recommend the Crooked tap, The Pump House, The Star Inn at North Dalton, or if you’re after fine dining try The Highfield.

25 minutes down the road will take you to Beverley where there is loads of choice!  We like Lucia’s Wine Bar & Grill, the Rose & Crown, and the Wellington at Lund.

Are there cooking facilities?

Yes!  This really is a home from home.  Our larger cabins; Jolly, Queen Bee & Waterlily all have a full sized oven.  Crazy Mazy, Jiji, Zebedee, Goldie all have a micro-combi oven and an air frier as well as a hob.

Each cabin also has a BBQ outside and we do offer BBQ boxes and breakfast boxes which can be left in your cabin fridge on arrival.  To book these simply choose it as an option at the time of booking or call us on 01377 270607 or email info@woldescapes.co.uk. We do need some time to get these ready for you though, so we do ask for you to give us plenty of time for any requests.

Is tea and coffee included?

Yes, we have some tea and coffee for you to use, as well as salt, pepper and cooking oil.  Obviously if you do drink tea by the gallon you may want to bring a little extra with you!

Do takeaways deliver?

Yes, there are several takeaways which do deliver to Wold Escapes & we’ve done a list below and there is also a guide in each cabin too.

Do remember that we are very rural though, and takeaways can sometimes take a while compared to a town or city.  Also remember to tell them your cabin name when you order so the driver is not wondering around looking for you. 🙂

Do we need to bring our own bedding?

No, absolutely not!  Beds are ready and made up for two people.  If you require any extra bedding then this must be booked in advanced and will be charged at £15.

What is there to do nearby?

There are loads of walks nearby, including two walks around our private farmland including one which goes round our chalk stream sanctuary which is really special.

We also have plenty of good cycle routes nearby and we offer secure undercover bike storage if you need it.

We  are a short drive from the coast with some beautiful beaches such as Bridlington, Danes Dyke, Fraisethorpe, Thornwick Bay and Hunmanby Gap.

If the town is more your scene, we are 5 minutes from the market town of Driffield, market day is Thursday.  Or Beverley is only a 20 minute drive and has some lovely shops, bars and restaurants.  If you don’t mind a slightly longer drive the historic city of York is only 45 minutes away by car and is ideal if you’re sight seeing.

We also have several local stately homes which are well worth a visit including Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere Hall and Castle Howard.

Check out of local area page for more ideas.

How far are you from the nearest beach?

Our nearest beaches are probably Fraisethorpe and Bridlington which are about 25-30 minutes drive away.  They are both huge beaches and great for walking, both are dog friendly, though the mid-section in Bridlington is no dogs in the peak summer months but you can easily nip up and walk round on the promenade to avoid that bit.

Our dog friendly blog covers beaches read it here:
