OUR STORY

Wold Escapes is owned by the Rymer family, owners of JSR Farms, JSR Genetics and Taste Panel, a food market research company. With our roots firmly in agriculture, high quality produce, our local environment and the great British countryside are hugely important to us. We are proud to share our little patch of the Yorkshire Wolds with our guests.

In 2010 we converted the old agricultural barns at the Highfield farmstead into a state of the art cookery school along with luxury bed and breakfast accommodation.

The Yorkshire Wolds Cookery school has been running successfully for over ten years now, winning several awards. We have numerous highly acclaimed guest chefs who are all specialists in their own area including; Stephanie Moon, Jono Seward, Eddie Scott the Masterchef winner of 2022, Carmela Hayes, Afsaneh Kaviani, Rosie South, Sharmini Thomas and Rachel Kirkwood.

After thinking about what else we could do to share our beautiful part of the Yorkshire Wolds with more people we hit on the idea of glamping. In April 2021 we expanded our accommodation launching four eco glamping cabins, followed by a fifth larger cabin, Jolly, in September 2022.

Our cabins are hugely popular and guests often comment on the peace and tranquillity here at Wold Escapes and the spectacular view from the private decking.

Making your stay memorable

Wold Escapes have a small but dedicated team under our manager Georgina, and we will always do our utmost to ensure guests have a memorable stay with us. Jenna in the office will answer your queries and look into any bespoke requests. Gill our home cook serves up the most delicious breakfast and guests often comment on Agi, our Housekeeper’s wonderful welcoming smile. We always try to accommodate our guest’s requests, no matter how unusual they may be.
