The reserve is an active Yorkshire Water Treatment Works supplying Hull from two huge reservoirs protected for wildfowl. Bird hides look over 300 acres of surrounding woodland, wetland and grassland flanking the River Hull that have recorded 270 bird species since 1959.

The historic house of Burton Agnes has plenty to see and do including wandering around the house or beautiful gardens, woodland, and adventure playground.
