FEES
Enrolment Fees for all classes are payable in full, in advance
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Most class and event bookings are made many months in advance. It can be hard for us to resell places the closer to the class/event date we get. This then has an impact on other customers and our business.
Our cancellation policy is designed to allow customers to change a class booking with minimal penalty when enough notice is given. We will always try and help wherever possible, but please familiarise yourself with our terms of cancellation and transfer before booking especially if you are booking for someone else.
If cancelled more than 28 days before the date of class/event, payments and vouchers will be refunded less a £30.00 per person administration fee.
If cancelled within 28 days of the date of class, payments and vouchers are non-refundable. However, we will endeavour to fill your place and if filled fees will be returned less £30.00 per person administration fee. If we are unable to resell your place in the time remaining, you will forfeit all class fees associated with your booking.
If a person booked on a course fails to attend for any reason, they will not be entitled to a refund or be able to transfer to another course.
Note: We recommend that all customers have a suitable travel insurance policy in place that can provide cover for common issues such as ill health, bereavement or travel disruption.
CANCELLATION OF COURSES AND EVENTS BY YORKSHIRE WOLDS COOKERY SCHOOL
Please note we do require a minimum attendance on all classes and sadly may have to cancel if the appropriate number is not reached. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a class we will endeavour to offer you a suitable alternative. If this is not possible you will be entitled to a full refund.
TRANSFER OF BOOKING
(For Duke of Edinburgh classes please see section below)
Requests to transfer to alternative class or date are subject to availability and a transfer fee.
If you inform us of your wish to transfer more than 28 days before the date of class the transfer will be subject to a £20.00 per person administration fee. If you inform us of your wish to transfer within 28 days of the date of the original class date, we will endeavour to fill your place(s) and if so the transfer will be subject to a £20.00 per person administration fee. If we are unable to resell your place in the time remaining, you will forfeit any class fees associated with your booking.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
There is no smoking anywhere inside the buildings. We recommend that visitors wear appropriate clothing, low-heeled and no-scuff shoes (not open toed) in the kitchen.
PROPERTY
Any property including vehicles, belonging to students are brought to the ‘Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School’ at student’s own risk and the proprietors accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to the property of any students, nor do they accept any liability for any personal injury to any student.
STANDARDS
Students are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the highest standards during their course and the proprietors reserve the right to order any student to leave without reimbursement of fees if the student does not observe such standards and any regulations of Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School or is guilty of unreasonable or improper conduct.
ALTERATIONS
The Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School reserves the right under unavoidable circumstances, to alter the timing or content of any course or of the curriculum and to substitute any teacher or instructor. Fees and dates are quoted as at the time of going to press. We reserve the right to make alterations as and where relevant. You will be notified immediately of any changes.
LOST PROPERTY
In the unfortunate circumstance that you leave behind an item of property and request its return by post there will be a minimum fee of £5.00 plus the appropriate post and packing cost. Property that remains uncollected after 30 days will be disposed of or taken to a local charity shop.
DUKE OF EDINBURGH GOLD RESIDENTIAL AWARD
CANCELLATIONS POLICY
More than 40 days’ notice – course fees will be returned in full subject to an administration fee of £100.00.
Less than 40 days’ notice – ALL course fees will be retained unless we are able to fill your place. If we are able to reallocate your place course fees will be returned in full subject to an administration fee of £100.00. Less than seven days – no refund will be offered.
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a course we will endeavour to offer you a suitable alternative. If this is not possible you will be entitled to a full refund. More than 40 days’ notice – acceptable subject to an administration fee of £20.00 per person.
If you inform us of your wish to transfer within 40 days of the date of course, we will endeavour to fill your place(s) and if so the transfer will be subject to a £20.00 per person administration fee. If we are unable to resell your place in the time remaining, you will forfeit any course fees associated with your booking.
