Giving Back to Our Community

Giving Back to Our Community

At Wold Escapes, we’re proud to be part of the fantastic local community here in East Yorkshire. We work closely with local suppliers to cater for our cookery school, farmhouse and glamping cabins, and have built strong relationships not only with them but also with the wider community. Many of our students and guests come from this area, and we’re extremely grateful for their continued support. It’s no surprise, then, that we feel it’s important to give back and support our community in every way we can.

Supporting Local Charities

We are proud to support a wide range of local charities, schools, and fundraising events by donating vouchers and backing activities that make a real difference.

We’ve had the privilege of contributing to many important causes, including:

Hosting Charity Events

Alongside voucher donations, we’ve also been delighted to host and support other charitable events. In the past we have hosted Macmillan bike rides and welcomed a talk from the inspirational Andrew Osbourne, who undertook a remarkable solo row across the Atlantic Ocean in memory of his daughter. Row for Amy supported the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young.

We’ve also previously teamed up with award-winning chef James Mackenzie from The Pipe and Glass for a cookery demo, raising funds for Hospitality Action – another well-deserving charity, especially important during the challenging times the hospitality industry is facing.

Wold Escapes is also proud to have a sponsorship board at Great Driffield Football Club, as well as at the Hutton Cranswick Sports and Recreational facilities just down the road from us. Supporting grassroots sport and encouraging people to get outside and be active is part of the ethos here at Wold Escapes.

Every one of the causes we support is close to the heart of someone in our community, and we’re so happy to play even a small part in helping them. Giving back is central to who we are – not just as a business, but as people who truly care about the place we live and work.

Being shortlisted for two REYTA awards this year for Remarkable Regenerative Tourism and Glamping Camping and Holiday Park of the Year is such an honour, and to be recognised for what we do here at Wold Escapes as well as how we strive to make a positive impact on the wider community makes us incredibly proud.  We will of course continue doing all we can to support, share, and celebrate the amazing work happening across East Yorkshire.
